World Sleep Day – Friday, March 15th, 2019
World Sleep Day, developed by the World Sleep Day Committee and World Sleep Society. It is a day to be recognized for people who struggle with sleep problems. Everyone should get a great night’s rest, and the purpose of World Sleep Day is to help those who do struggle from this problem. World Sleep Day will fall on Friday, March 15th. Here are some things you can do for yourself for World Sleep Day.
Keep a Small Notebook Near Your Bed
Studies have shown that people are unable to sleep when they think about many things going through their head. For example, if one is lying in bed thinking of all the things they need to accomplish tomorrow or within the next days, they will never fall asleep. However, studies have shown that people who keep a notebook near their bed and journal their thoughts have better habits of falling asleep quicker. In fact, people who do this fall asleep nine minutes faster than the person who lays in deep thought.
Clean Room
Just like journaling thoughts throughout a day’s work, keeping a tidy room will also increase a good night’s sleep. Cleaning a room acts as if something is done before getting into bed. Those who get into bed at night whenever their bedding is already made are more likely to have a good night sleep. I mean, just think about it. Who would want to sleep in a dirty room knowing that it could be cleaned?
Eat Good
Another important tactic toward sleeping better is what one eats throughout the day. By staying away from the caffeine, sugar, and the unhealthy foods and eating more on the healthier side, many will discover how bright their mornings truly are. Foods such as cereal, pasta or foods with a vast amount of carbs are the way to go if trying to get a good night sleep, especially right before going to bed. I sleep much better when I am following my Whole30 food rules. Drinking right can also increase the odds of one having the right amount of sleep. For example, drinking a warm cup of tea or milk can help many people feel more relaxed and satisfied while in bed.
Give Your Bedroom a Facelift
To help one sleep at night, try giving your bedroom the facelift it needs. For example, having the room that one couldn’t wait to get home to would give a room a more facelifting feel and would get that person excited to be in their bed. A way to give a room a facelift is to dress up a comforter and to whiten the sheets on a bed. To provide one with other ways to enhance their sleep at night, look at the California Design Den Collection, a 400-thread count weave that will give one an incredible feel. Available in all sizes, the California Design Den Collection will make one feel like they’re on a cloud (featured in the picture above)! There is nothing better than having a new and fresh pair of sheets on my bed to help me sleep.
