Daniel Cluff
If you are wondering, “Who is Daniel Cluff”? I am going to answer that question for you! In 1952 a massive nor’easter hit New England. A nor’easter is a HUGE storm where the direction of the wind comes from northeastern direction. This 1952 storm meant frigid temperatures, and 60 foot high waves with hurricane-force winds. There was a ship called the SS Pendleton, which was an oil tanker that was headed toward Boston and got ripped in half. It was trapping more than 30 sailors in it. As the word of disaster reaches the U.S. Coast Guard, Daniel Cluff orders a daring operation to rescue the stranded men from his wooden lifeboat. It is THIS story that Disney decided to create a new movie called “The Finest Hours”!’
