I had a Girl’s Night Out to see Where the Crawdads Sing with several of my friends. Half of us had read the book and half of us didn’t. Excited to write and share the following post, Where the Crawdads Sing Review.

We thought it was good and we probably hung out for about 15-20 minutes afterward talking about the movie. Those of us who haven’t finished the book are wanting to go back and read it now!
Where the Crawdads Sing Review
We all had a different perspective but the story was good and the movie was so visually stunning. I thought the scene was going to be a gross swampland but of course, the beauty of nature and art shined in almost every scene of the movie.
I also just came across another even more interesting article that now the author herself has some parallels in her life and now she is being questioned for…drumroll…murder.
There are definitely some deep themes in the story and the ending was not what I thought it was going to be. I am glad that this is only a movie and not a real story but as I was watching it I kept thinking it was based on a real trial and a real movie.
I think if you have been abused it might be a tough movie to watch. It is definitely not for young kids who can’t handle watching sexual abuse and physical abuse…oh yeah and murder.
I am pretty sure there might have been some intense watery eyes during parts of the movie but you find yourself engaged in the relationships that the main character has in the film. After the ending, you realize all of these little pieces adding up and really understand the character more at the end.
If you like murder, mystery, drama, love…and high intensity then this is the movie for you!
About the movie:
From the best-selling novel comes a captivating mystery. Where the Crawdads Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina.
For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect.
As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh.
