As a VZWBuzz Ambassador, I like to share my monthly posts about technology. They are usually up to beat, but this one I am hoping some of you all can relate. My iPhone screen shattered and I was so upset.
I am pretty careful with my phones and just the other day I had my hands full, I was in a bit of a rush, and trying to get in my card. BOOM! My iphone slipped out of hands and it was like I was watching it fall in slow motion. When my iPhone screen shattered it landed flat on the backside of the phone. I looked down and my entire screen was shattered. I had my kids with me but I think I imagined all the bad cuss words that I have heard.
What to do:
As I lay my iphone to rest here are some things I learned about breaking your screen and iPhone protection!
Apple only charges a little over $100 for a broken screen. So it really isn’t the end of the world if your screen breaks, but it sure does feel like it.
There are lots of people who know people who will fix a broken screen.
If you are up for an upgrade, what a great time to take advantage of a new contract with the benefits of getting a new phone!
You might have insurance! I pay each month for phone insurance. I am terrified to get rid of it because the second I do I will either drop my phone in the pedicure bath at the spa (I have done that one) OR I will accidentally wash and dry my phone (I have done that too).
Phone Protection:
Get a good case. I had a case on my phone when it fell and shattered. This case has saved me a lot! This time it didn’t. I am pretty sure the flat fall is the worse! It has fallen on corners and more and has never broken. This is the second phone that has shattered and each shatter was a flat fall. I had one of my best friends tell me that I need to, “get an Otterbox.”
Get a screen protector. I haven’t used one in awhile. I have many friends swear by them. I guess anything is worth the drama, the tears, and the imaginary bad words that went through my head. I had one friend tell me, “Get a glass protector plus the extra tough Mophie.”
Don’t put your phone in your pocket and make sure it is in a safe place when it is in your purse.
