Thor: Ragnarok
Review by Myla Tosatto
I am going to come clean with you right from the get go, dear reader. I LOVE comic book movies. I especially love Thor comic book movies. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is my favorite cinematic superhero and luckily, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is my favorite super villian. This makes it especially exciting for me when you get the two of them together for a WHOLE movie in the latest Marvel installment, Thor: Ragnarok. The fan girl in me is still excited after seeing this movie days ago! This post might contain affiliate links below.
Our latest Thor adventure finds Thor and company trying to end the coming of Ragnarok (the end of the world as we know it according to Norse myths) by defeating his sister, Hela (Cate Blanchet). Can I just add that Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Frigga had some BEAUTIFUL children? Yowza!
Interestingly enough, in the midst of the of Ragnarok, we get a space opera that will make Star Wars, Flash Gordon and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension fans weep with joy. Taika Waititi is a FUN director and he certainly does not disappoint here. Buckle up, because when Mark Ruffalos’s Hulk (mostly just Hulk here, mind you. Bruce Banner isn’t really in charge.), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) join the fray it goes to a completely different level of boisterousness.
The film is rated PG-13 and your kids will most certainly want to see it. There is some violence, but no more than usual in this kind of movie. I say take ‘em. And while you’re at it, take me too. I want to see it again! And again! And again!
NOW PLAYING IN THEATERS!
