Review
The Tomorrow War was one of the biggest movie releases of this year. After having no good movies since March of 2020, Chris Pratt and his cast put out the best movie I have seen since Covid started.
A quick summary: aliens have invaded the world but in the future. People fighting the war come back into today’s time and warn the world that the human species will be gone forever if they do not start fighting now. Countries from around the world work together to send people into the future so they can fight these aliens, but only 20% of those who go into the war come back alive. The war has an amazing amount of backlash, to the point where there is a worldwide draft and any adult can be drafted. Dan Forester (Chris Pratt), a high school science teacher, is drafted and sent into the future to fight.
The movie was great cinematically. The CGI and visuals were amazing. The Tomorrow War is only available on Amazon Prime and even though streaming, it looked great. We played it on my laptop and AirPlayed it through the TV, which worked like a charm. The white spikes (alien species) looked gross and gory, which is exactly what I want when watching a movie like this.
My main problem with this movie is the storyline and don’t worry, there are no spoilers here. Some points in the movie don’t get enough coverage, and some get too much. It seems like the audience was thrown right into the plot at the start of the movie, and the climax was towards the beginning-middle and not the end. The ending, in my opinion, was corny. I am glad, however, that the ending was firm and didn’t leave the audience hanging. It just seemed like the last 20-ish minutes of the movie were pointless and it could have been cut off sooner, with the ending that the viewers expected and wanted.
All in all, I enjoyed The Tomorrow War but I’m not confident I would watch it again. From what I have seen online, there are some mixed reviews, just like mine. It is a good watch after not seeing anything good over the past year and a half, so I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in sci-fi and action.

I agree with your review. I also thought that they could have cut a full half hour of car chases and fights out of the movie. These scenes got repetitious after awhile.
