Disclaimer: I am writing this post because I am part of the Verizon Ambassadorship program. I keep sharing technology articles with you because technology makes our lives better. What happens when we have our own tech fails?! What are some tech fails that I have seen throughout the years?
What is a tech fail? Technology failures happen a lot but right now their are more modern ways to really screw up when using technology in your everyday life. Are we getting better or worse with them as technology gets faster and more advanced? I am not sure how to write this post without throwing people I know and love under the bus, so fingers crossed they don’t read it. Here are the top 6 most common tech failures that happen every single stinkin’ day! These are definitely technology mistakes that I don’t want to fall under.
Tech Failure #1: Facebroke!
Facebook being a very popular site has many people logging in to connect. They are more comfortable using it then they should be. I recall someone I truly love and very close to me who kept replying to people by updating her status. “I am sorry, Johnny. We are thinking and praying for your family.” I am pretty sure Johnny NEVER got the message and if he did so did Sally, Frankie, Billie, and all 300 friends who read this message.
Tech Failure #2: Chatastrophe!
I am claiming this failure! The person I am talking about will probably read this one day and I will probably get my butt kicked. I had a huge group message going on while on Facebook. At the same time I was chatting with a friend. The person in the group message hadn’t gained any of my trust. When going to reply back to my friend I posted in the wrong chat and told everyone, “I don’t trust her no matter what she is saying.” EEK of course I played it off and just said oh I was talking about something else and thought I was talking to my husband. So it might have been a little white lie but I didn’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. I can see this getting a little crazy and a little out of hand.
Tech Failure #3: Reply All Foot in Mouth!
This one is going to be work related. We all love e-mail. Right now at my real job I spend hours a day having to go through email after email because that is how we communicate now. I had a co-worker hit reply all on a message and complain about our boss. Many nasty things were said in the email. Luckily some tech guy helped him remove the message on any inboxes who have yet to open the e-mail. I am pretty sure the boss found out about it.
Tech Failure #4: Damn You Auto-Correct!
We have all seen the screenshots of our text messaging messages getting auto-corrected by our phone. A lot of times this isn’t what we meant to tell our friend, boss, or family member. Personally these can be a major tech fail but I consider them a techilarious!
EXAMPLE: I was rock climbing, out of my comfort zone and texted my husband. I am NOT a dirty person…I am sort of embarrassed on what Auto-Correct did! Especially since before I figured out wha I wrote, I asked the random strangers around me…”Is there someone here named RICK that knows my husband?!” This calls for a real #SMH moment!
Tech Failure #5: The Hacker!
Staying logged in to the computer next to your mischievous friends. I am actually the mischievous one! If my husband leaves his computer on right in front me of me and walks away my wheels start turning and I think of all the awesome things I can do to reclaim his computer so he knows I was there. I like changing wall paper, screen savers, and even updating his Facebook message declaring how AWESOME of a wife I am every single day and every single moment! I get lots of laughs and smiles and he puts a password lock on all his screens. >=)
Tech Failure #6: When there is NO Undo Button!
This can reply to many things. When you send a text to the wrong person. When you message the wrong picture to the wrong friend on Facebook. When you hit “Send” to early before you have proofread your e-mail. When you hit publish on that crazy #TechFail post that you wrote.
Now with technology changing in the last 5 years people like to save their files on cloud storage instead of little old floppy disks. Also devices such as phones, computers, and storage have sharing settings that you may or may not be aware of when using them. A lot of people know how to screen shot so even if you think you might have deleted the message, it is probably still there!
Do you have a tech failure story that you have to share?! I want to hear them! Contact me or feel free to leave a comment below!

Auto correct kills me! I use the voice activated text a lot of time and maybe it’s because I have a strong Southern accent but what I say is never what the phone writes! I’m still trying to figure out a way around that!

I hate auto correct! I just hate it. It changes things when it was nothing like what I wanted it to be.
Travel Blogger says
ugh, autocorrect…it is so stupid. it works less then it doesn’t, and the words it picks….really?

Auto-Correct is my downfall! I can not tell you how many times it has corrected things for me wrong, really wrong!

I hate auto correct, even when i spell things right it changes it. This is a good list of technology fails.

HAHAHHA Autocorrect has been my worst enemy at times! It def has a mind of its own for sure! This is a great roundup list!

Man I have done all of these. Seriously you could lose sleep over them. Auto-Correct is the worst.

Almost every text I write has a wrong auto-correct! The silver-lining is this has forced a new habit. I now proof-read everything I write, even to my Family!
