This year’s Teacher Appreciation Week is Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024!

To celebrate all the hard work and dedication that is put in by teachers throughout the world, Teacher’s Appreciation Week is celebrated every year on the first week of the month of May.

During this week, students show appreciation toward their teachers through acknowledgment and freebies from many restaurants.

Teacher Appreciation Week Freebies and Deals

1. Fairway Creamery:
   Get a free ice cream scoop! “🍦 To all our amazing nurses and teachers: You deserve a sweet treat! Enjoy a free scoop on us this week as a token of our appreciation. Thank you for all you do!”  Check out their Facebook page.

   

2. Whataburger:

During National Teacher Appreciation Week (5/6-5/10), from 5am to 9am, teachers who show their School ID (or indicate they are educators if they don’t have an ID) can choose one of three free breakfast items: Breakfast on a Bun, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, or Taquito with Cheese.
Additionally, all Whataburger locations will distribute WhataTeacher Table Tents during these hours, while supplies last.

2. Chick-fil-A:

Select locations only. Wednesday, May 8, from 6:30am-10:30am – At Chick-fil-A Ward Parkway only (or check your location). Present your teacher’s ID while ordering & receive a free chicken biscuit or 4-ct. Chick-n-Mini!

3. Mod Pizza:

Teachers and nurses with a valid ID can get a BOGO pizza or salad through May 9th!

4. Staples:

Starting from May 5th until May 11th, Staples stores are honoring Teacher Appreciation Week with special offers for educators. Teachers can receive a complimentary Teacher Supply Kit during this period, limited to one kit per teacher. Additionally, teachers are eligible for a 20% discount on their Staples purchases throughout the week; simply present your teacher ID at the checkout to redeem this offer.

Please note that each store has a maximum limit of 20 kits available, and not all stores may have these kits in stock. To qualify for the free kit, teachers must show their teacher ID at the time of redemption.

The free teacher supply kit contains the following items: 2 Expo dry-erase markers, 1 Sharpie permanent marker, 2 Sharpie highlighters, 2 Paper Mate pens, 8 Paper Mate pencils, 2 Paper Mate erasers, 1 Elmer’s glue stick, and 1 Elmer’s liquid school glue. This promotion is a thoughtful gesture from Staples to show appreciation for teachers during their special week.

7. McAlister’s Deli

Visit your local McAlister’s Deli! Valid for educators and nurses from 5/6 – 5/12/24 for one (1) Big Sweet Tea, Unsweet Tea, ½ Sweet & ½ Unsweet Tea, or ½ Lemonade & ½ Sweet/Unsweet Tea (flavor shots excluded) on us in-store at participating locations only. Must show valid educator or healthcare ID at checkout. Limit one per person. No purchase is necessary.

10. Rock & Brew

There is one located in Overland Park and they are offering a free meal with a maximum value of ($26.99). You can stop by Mon – Friday during Teacher Appreciation Week.  

11. McLain’s Market

McLain’s Market shared “Show your faculty ID at the register this Tuesday, May 7th, and enjoy a free drink of your choice as a token of our appreciation. From lattes to Diet Cokes, it’s our way of saying THANK YOU for all you do!”

12. Union Station Kansas City

Union Station and Science City have a Teacher Appreciation weekend in the summer.  Educators not only get a voucher for free parking but they get a ticket for themselves and three others to go to Science City! This will be on August 5 & 6 from 10 AM – 5 PM on Saturday, 12 PM – 5 PM on Sunday!

13. Sea Life and Legoland

This isn’t a Teacher Appreciation offer but Sea Life and Legoland are offering a free annual membership to teachers!
