How is your family holding up on quarantine? You are probably finding yourself having your ups and downs. Are you embracing the family time that you have together? Are you still working and struggling to find a balance with everything? As weeks go on, some people will find it easier. We found that staying business with quarantine family activities daily helped our family. Whether we were doing Lego Sets, learning to cook, or watching movies we all enjoyed the time together and the break from the international news. This post is sponsored by Lemonade Pursuits but all opinions and ideas are our own.
While you are working your weekly calendar and to do list, don’t forget to create a list of family activities each day. The adults need these distractions just as much as the kids do. We have provided a printable calendar along with our activities that you could use for your own family.
Top 6 Quarantine Family Activities
We created a top 6 quarantine family activities list to use for you and your family.
Bake:
Our family has used this time to help our kids get around the kitchen a little bit. We gave our kids one meal to focus on creating. Rather than choosing one day a week, they are picked “LUNCH”. Have your kids focus on creating a meal plan, fixing lunch, and cleaning up afterwards. We decided that adding in some BAKING time is fun for our family too. We loved making a Rainbow Cake and some of Disney’s newest recipes from the parks, like their churros.
Movie Night:
Plan some movie nights in your calendar. You can do everything from renting movies that came straight to digital like Trolls World Tour or even explore Netflix. Watch movies on your TV with a fort or even plan to watch it from a projector. Read more about our Family Movie Night for more ideas.
Family Walk:
Explore a distance walk around your neighborhood. Make it more exciting by taking some sidewalk chalk with you and designing positive messages as you walk around town.
Game Night:
Get your favorite games out of the garage or basement, plan some game nights with the kids. The classic Monopoly or Trouble has been fun for our family. Hasbro always has a great list of games to choose from.
Dance Party:
There are so many live dance parties, Zumba classes, and even TikTok dances that your family can have a blast learning and creating. Be creative and make up your own dances or just play your favorite music from your Alexa device and dance on until you are tired.
Family Puzzle:
Enjoy a family puzzle. Challenge your family to a 1,000 piece puzzle that can take 3 to 10 hours to complete. Spending a couple of hours here and there can be therapeutic. We found these great puzzles that are made in the US, are made of recycled material, and support local female artists. Lemonade Pursuits’ mission is to positively harness mental energy by solving uniquely beautiful puzzles developed with calm in mind. Visit lemonadepuzzles.com.
