There is a another Christmas movie and a new campaign that Netflix is pushing for the movie “Angela’s Christmas”. Their new Angela’s Christmas Spread the Warmth Initiative is meant to not only get you in the Holiday spirit of giving, but is meant to encourage everyone to give back. This is a sponsored post by our friends at Netflix.
Netflix is owning the family Christmas movie push! First they have Klaus and now they have Angela’s Christmas! Angela’s Christmas was actually released in 2017. My daughter had heard of it already, but this movie is new to me.
When your kids remember the Holidays, they aren’t going to remember the gifts under the tree, they are going to remember the time spent and the memories created. Think about your childhood, do you remember the specific gifts you received for Christmas, or do you remember the family meals, volunteering and collecting cans, and baking? For my family, it is definitely watching Christmas movies together. Today my girls made krispie treats with dad and my youngest snuggled and watched Angela’s Christmas with me.
The Angela’s Christmas Spread the Warmth Initiative (#SpreadTheWarmth) campaign is about spending time together and generosity. The movie is about a 6 year old named Angela who was attending Christmas Eve mass. She noticed that Baby Jesus wasn’t dressed very warm and was worried that he might be cold. So she took him to insure that he stays warm. The innocent thoughts and the child simplicity of her decision to assure everyone is going to be okay is what some adults are missing in life. If someone is upset, most kids are extremely bothered by it and will do everything in their power to make the situation better.
Angela’s Christmas is not only a cute 30 minute short, but it has also been nominated for 3 Emmy Awards! I am glad I have now also seen the movie along with my daughter. She remembered the movie from her Kindergarten year and what it was about!
