I was invited to an expense-paid trip to participate in Miracles From Heaven Interviews and a press junket.
Last week I had the pleasure of enjoying an all-expense paid trip to LA, compliments of Sony, to over the Miracles from Heaven press junket! On our first night there, we had a chance to screen the movie at the AMC Santa Monica! This movie was such an amazingly compelling story, based on the true life story of Anna Beam, as written by her mother Christy.
Miracles From Heaven Cast Interviews
On the second day of my visit to LA, I participated in several group interviews where we were able to speak to many of the people behind this amazing film! During the cast interviews, I learned so much about the different aspects that went into this film.
The movie “Miracles from Heaven” is a 2016 American Christian drama film directed by Patricia Riggen. The cast of the film includes:
Miracles From Heaven Cast
*Jennifer Garner as Christy Beam
*Kylie Rogers as Anna Beam
*Martin Henderson as Kevin Beam
Brighton Sharbino as Abbie Beam
Courtney Fansler as Adelynn Beam
*Queen Latifah as Angela
Eugenio Derbez as Dr. Nurko
John Carroll Lynch as Pastor Scott
Kelly Collins Lintz as Emmy
Brandon Spink as Billy Snyder
*The cast that we interviewed, was as follow:
Anna Beam – Played by Kylie Rogers
Christy Beam (Anna’s Mother) – Played by Jennifer Garner
Kevin Beam (Anna’s Father) – Played by Martin Henderson
Angela (Anna and Christy’s friend) – Played by Queen Latifah
One of the questions that really stuck out for the cast was how it is to star in a movie where you have to portray a real person. Particularly a movie like this, where it targets such a sensitive time in the original family’s lives.
Each of them had their own take on how it was playing the actual family in this movie.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the interviews:
“I felt it was huge to honor these people and their story. This is a true story, and it’s an heavy story so I felt emotinally too, I had to do that honestly.” – Martin Henderson
“I have a play list in my phone that I still listen to of her [Christy’s] favorite songs and church songs that were definetly inspirational. She was an enormous guide, and help, and cheat sheet for me.” – Jennifer Garner
“I kind of really looked to Patricia to give me the direction I needed to sorta ‘bring it’. She was just like ‘we need you to bring what you bring’. ‘Bring your humour and your good vibes’ and some of the things you all really know of me to be. They’re in a really dark palce in their life in the film and htis is what Angeal gets to do. She gets to come ‘break it up’ and releave the stress a little bit, and I can totally relate to that”. – Queen Latifiah
“It’s cool to know that I am… portraying someone that this actually happened to. And it’s so… crazy… that I actually go to meet the person that this happend to! It’s cool!” – Kylie Rogers
When asked what was most difficult about playing such an emotional part, Kylie Rogers response had me tearing up!
“The emotions. And…just being someone, like… this is so big that this actually happened to someone. It’s difficult for me to process it sometimes. There’s just so much emotions”.
Each of the actors said that being in the movie impacted their faith tremendously.
“I would say playing Christy and being in the environment that she was in (even though it was pretend) and being faced with the things she was faced with gave me a great deal of perspective and gave me a sense of peace that my children are healthy and all is well,” -Jennifer Garner
These actors were amazing to interview! They all had their very own quirky and fun personalities, and you could feel the chemistry between. If you haven’t had the chance to see the previews for the movie Miracles from Heaven, check out the trailer below! Wow. The trailer made me cry! What a fun blessing to get to go see this. I will have to see it–though I don’t normally like things that make me cry!

Movie screenings and exclusive showings are full of fun. I need to pay more attention to my local niche theater here in Tampa.
