Are you looking for an honest Mayor Pete Review? The filmmaker who made the new documentary, Mayor Pete, obviously had an open door to a very accessible Pete Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten. The audience gets to see his strengths, which are many, and his weaknesses, which are few. Pete and Chasten are interviewed and speak freely to the doc makers. The cameras follow them to town halls, meet and greets, kids’ camps, state fairs, campaign headquarters, their home, debates and ultimately a concession speech. The audience literally gets stuck in an elevator with Pete and his staff. By the way, the elevator situation doesn’t phase Pete one bit.
Mayor Pete Review
Pete Buttiegieg’s honesty, brilliance, and humbleness shine in Mayor Pete. Pete has a bright future even though he ultimately lost his bid for the presidency. And by lost- I mean, he got a cushy Cabinet position in Biden’s administration. That is a huge win. Be sure to check our favorite Mayor Pete Quotes.
Pete Buttigieg didn’t come out of anywhere to run for president in 2020. He is a Rhodes Scholar, a combat veteran, a two-term mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Running for president seems like a bit of a stretch, but now America knows who Mayor Pete is (even if they might not know how to pronounce his last name*).
The doc shows Mayor Pete is brilliant and real (if a little bit boring). This isn’t a revelation if you have been following his career. But if you haven’t? Through this documentary, you get to see something really special!
*Boot Edge Edge. It’s pronounced Boot Edge Edge.
