I live my life for God and others. I have been taught to put others before myself. Then I become a mom and that became reality super charged! My kids always come first. Sometimes they have cute hair and outfits…and I am still in a ponytail, no makeup, and a t-shirt. My time is dedicated to them first.
You should put others before yourself without affecting your emotions. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed I can’t help but cry. There are times I have irrational tears. I was told that I should do things in my life like get more rest and cut out caffeine and high sugar.
I am working on myself this year! Thank you to Neutrogena for sponsoring this conversation on how us moms can make a “brighter difference”!
Lifestyle Changes a Mom Should Make Today!
Take Care of Your Relationships With Friends and Family: I am a people person. I find that I am so much happier when I have taken care and stayed connected with friends and family. Whether it means to plan a lunch date with my friends OR send a quick message via text to let someone know I am thinking of them. Surrounding myself with positive people makes my day brighter and gives me an opportunity to make their day brighter.
Take Care of Your Body: You should get moving! I stay brighter by counting my daily steps. I noticed that the days I am the most active, I stay the most positive!
Eat Better Food: Sometimes all I want is a coffee and chocolate! I feel so much brighter when I can say “no” to those foods and go for some fruit and salad with a large glass of water. The entire day I am feeling proud that I said “no” to those high sugar and high fat foods.
Get Some Rest: It is important to get sleep each day! I noticed that certain things in my life are way better when I am well rested! I am less likely to snap at my family and kids. I find that I am a lot more patient when I have slept for 8 hours! When I lacked enough sleep, I found myself suffering from depression and anxiety.
Find a HOBBY you ENJOY: I love traveling and taking photographs! Being outside feels so good and it is so refreshing!
Teach Your Kids Random Acts of Kindness: I love spending time with my kids and teaching them to do good things for other people. I started leaving notes in their lunch boxes. I found that my 7 year old has been saving them and today she started writing notes for her teacher. Find what is best for you and your family. It might be volunteering at church, a soup kitchen, or surprising a neighbor with some flowers and a nice note.
Step Up Your Beauty Routine: I started using Neutrogena® Naturals Brightening Daily Moisturizer. Taking care of myself emotionally and physically is important. I am trying to make up for the time that I thought getting the darkest tan made me prettier, by protecting myself and skin. It contains bio nutrients that help promote healthy skin appearance, and support the skin’s own natural process for replenishment and detoxification.
Neutrogena is encouraging moms to make small lifestyle changes to make their world a “brighter” place every day! They want moms to give back to themselves and brighten their beauty routine!

I can related my lifestyle with you very much as I have always cared so much for others. And once my kids came in to my life, I made sure my first priority is always on them. I always make sure to teach them to be kind to everyone around and lead by example!
