While in LA last month I had the opportunity to meet and interview King Richard from Galavant played by Timothy Omundson, and the two executive producers Dan Fogelman and Kat Likkel. Dan and Kat are amazing producers and have done a great job with Galavant! If you haven’t seen it….be sure to watch it. It is like a full on musical and comedy show ever-single week!
King Richard from Galavant
Now let me tell you what made me the MOST excited to screen and interview these 3 people…Timothy Omundson! I have been a fan of his since he played Carolton Lassiter on Psych. To see him play King Richard is amazing because it really shows his range of acting skills. I learned some really fun facts about Season 2 while interviewing these great folks!
Fun Facts from King Richard (Timothy Omundson) from Galavant, Dan Fogelman and Kat Likkel
- They filmed some if the same place Game of Thrones was filmed.
- They were filming with 300 extras at one point this season.
- Dan explains this season as, “I have done 100 million dollar movies and this season doesn’t compare.”
- When it comes to humor they really push the envelope with sensitive jokes but they do large screenings with families and the young kids don’t get the jokes that they parents do get.
- A lot of the music is LIVE and not pre-recorded.
- There is lots of humor this year…a giant name Andre who hates dwars, short giants, huge dwarfs, and more!
- Timothy Omundson explains being on this show like “a kid at a candy store”.
- The season has 32 original songs which is equivalent to 5 Broadway musicals.
- This season’s character development is so much more fuller!
- This season was explained to us by Dan, “We took all the big characters and threw them this huge curve ball. Then watched them try to craw their way back.”
- The entire season is about “love and redemption,” explained Kat.
- “It’s a silly fun like Show and then you get smacked over the head with this heart…There is some beautiful stuff in there.” – Kat
