Kevin Probably Saves the World Interviews with Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters!
Last week I had the opportunity to watch “Kevin Probably Saves the World” while eating dinner and live tweeting with creators & executive Producers Michele Fazekas & Tara Butters in the ABC building in Burbank.
If you haven’t watched “Kevin Probably Saves the World” you can watch tonight’s episode on ABC and then you can get caught up on all of the missed shows either on ABC on Demand, the ABC website, or on HULU! The show is definitely a feel good show with lots of humor and it really is a good one that you can watch with your entire family.
We sat down with both very talented ladies and they talked about how they started writing this show with zero intention to pitch it to ABC because the show is just so different than what ABC would usually air. They both mentioned that they thought there was too much dark in this world, lots of people were unhappy and they wanted something that felt good! It didn’t matter if you were a “republican or democrat” people are upset they explained. This was a show that they wanted to watch with their kids and one that just feels good!
Tara Butters shared, “…it felt like people needed something that just came from a good place and kind of reminded you that little acts actually do add up and that you can have — you can do one thing and that might inspire somebody else to do a good thing.”
When sharing WHY they picked this show to write about, Michele shared, “Well, after that year of campaigning — it’s really easy to find ugliness in the world. You don’t have to work that hard. Go onto Twitter. Go onto a message board on a news website….” They both agreed they need “happy”!
They talk about how well of a team they have now and how they have hired their friends. Every writer they have is amazing and they have great chemistry. I learned that each show has a different writer and they rotate through the writers to create a beautiful series like the one they have now.
Tonight’s episode stars Will Sasso as Dave. “Dave” was written by Chris Dingess and directed by Ron Underwood. Guest starring in this episode is not only Will Sasso (“Modern Family,” “Family Guy”) as Dave, Anjali Bhimani as Susan Allen, Brandon Quinn as Ignacio “Iggy” DePerro and Alex Quijano as Matthew Torres.
