Kansas City Summer Bucket List
Cheap Summer Movies: There are several that you can do! These are great for a rainy day! Regal has $2 movies and B&B has $3 movies.
Kansas City Zoo: Fun for everyone. We usually make two trips so we can visit Africa one day and Australia another day. Check out the new Red Pandas and the baby Stingrays.
Deanna Rose Farmstead: Visit animals, play, get ice cream, mine for rocks, fish, and more!
Children’s Museum: This is newly renovated and it is fun! You can also go for free if you have a Pogo Pass.
Kearney Missouri Splash Pad: This was a lot of fun! Be sure to pack a lunch so you can spend more time there. There is also a Sonic nearby if you need a cool treat.
Liberty Spray Grounds: Brand new Spray Grounds just renovated and finished last fall! We can’t wait to go this year once it opens after Memorial Day.
NKC Splash Pad: We try to go once a year and pack a lunch. It has several play areas and a huge spray ground.
Kansas City Street Car: Totally fun and free. Go for a ride on the streetcar and spend a bit of time downtown.
Crown Center Play Area: This play area is located in Crown Center and they often change the theme. It is a great play area and great for the little ones. Only one way in and out.
Explore Downtown Liberty: Bring your camera and jump into the different little shops.
Money Museum: Another free field trip and something fun to do with your kids that is educational.
Liberty Jail: If you are in downtown Liberty a fun thing to do is visit the jail.
Liberty Living History Museum: This is set up like a little old town and has a walking path, tons of cute old buildings, and even chickens to check0ut.
Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary: Go for a walk, visit the butterfly garden, and learn about critters.
Penguin Park: A summer tradition with an iconic huge penguin!
Liberty Memorial
Union Station: Walk around Union Station for fun!
Science City: You can also get free passes to Science City if you purchase a Pogo Pass.
Kaleidoscope: Hallmark’s creative fun land to make arts and crafts. FREE!
Hallmark Visitor’s Center: Next to Kaleidoscope in Crown Center where you can learn a lot about Hallmark and make a free bow to keep.
Marble Moon Company: This is a fun place that is hopefully back in action after covid for viewing and marble making.
Watkins Mill: A fun park to explore with trails.
Duncan’s Berry Farm: Our favorite farm to go Blueberry Picking and say “Hi” to the animals.
The Nelson’s Art Gallery
The Legend’s: Go shopping for a fun afternoon out.
The Kansas City Museum: Newly renovated mansion located in Northeast with great photo ops. There is also a new gaming room that is really fun to hangout in for fun!
The Plaza: Another fun shopping day.
Rollerskating Rink: You have gone skating at least once. We love Northland Rolladium.
Bowling Alley: This is on our list of things to do.
Smithville Lake: There are actually two beaches and we like to visit each one at least once.

Oceans of Fun: Fun waterpark! Check out our tickets starting as low as $37!
World’s of Fun: We have tickets starting as low as $37!
The Springs Aquatic Center: We love the lazy river and there is toddler playtime in the morning if you want to save money.
Powell Gardens: My favorite is the Butterfly Fest which happens every summer.

Lilo’s Shaved Ice: Located in Liberty and so much fun. Bring some chairs to sit on and enjoy a fun summer night.
Yogurtini: Not only do we love Yogurtini, but your kids can get free yogurtini by doing the Books for Yo sheet and bringing it in!
