Caribou Coffee sponsored this post and I got to DRINK coffee AND go and PLAY! All opinions are my own! Best adventure!
Every year before we all go back to school we load up the kiddos and try to take one last trip to hit up some of our favorite spots in Kansas City you can visit for free, in addition we’re usually forced to do grocery shopping in the morning to make sure we have stuff for lunch.
We started our long day in August with an incredible Crafted Press Iced Coffee from Caribou Coffee. Caribou Coffee takes 12 hours to cold steep their coffee because they want to give their customers the best, they want to see what 12 hours in our crazy day and yours looks like!
Usually my hubby skips caffeine but knowing we had a long day ahead of us, in the Kansas City heat and humidity, not to mention the crazy summer crowds in Kansas City this time of year, he made an exception. His first reaction was “Wow this is really good!”
After a stop at Kansas City’s Union Station to sign a card for our beloved Will Shields who will be entering the Hall of Fame this weekend, we walked across the skywalk to visit LegoLand and Sea Life. Despite massive crowds my husband and I were still going halfway through our 12 hours! From there we headed upstairs to the Hallmark Visitors center and Kaleidoscope for some fun artwork with the kiddos!
We’ve been at it 8 hours and we’re still kicking, but isn’t it crazy the amount of things you get done in the time it takes Caribou Coffee to cold steep their coffee? Out of coffee it’s time to duck inside to cool down with some ice cream.
Time to head to the Country Club Plaza to show the girls some of the fountains Kansas City is famous for, we settle in for some dinner and put a wrap on another long summer day and an exclamation mark at the end of the summer!

I’ve never tried the iced coffees before but I think it would feel better on an all-day adventure instead of the hot coffee. I’m going to try this on our next day trip!

Never been to Kansas city but sounds like a wonderful time to see. I am envious, sounds like you’re enjoying the coffee. Sadly, coffee isn’t my cup of tea.

I’ve heard really good things about their coffee. I’ll have to try it out – nothing like an iced coffee to start the morning 🙂
