If you are wondering if No Hard Feelings is appropriate for families then I wanted to thoroughly answer that question but there are some things to keep in mind. First of all the main answer is “no” it isn’t good for the little ones. But what if you have adult children, would you be comfortable taking them to see No Hard Feelings? Here is what I thought of the movie keeping kids in mind.
Is No Hard Feelings movie appropriate for families?
What is No Hard Feelings Rated?
The movie is rated R it has sexual content, a lot of bad words, nudity, and all the jazz that comes with a rated R movie.
What are the main themes for No Hard Feelings?
Well, this is a tough one because I wouldn’t consider this movie the most theme-worthy. One of the main quotes was about finding yourself.
This movie is a great one if you aren’t sensitive to a bit of a raunchy comedy that you would enjoy after a fun dinner date with your friends. If you are in a bad mood and need to laugh this is the movie to go and see.
How long is the movie?
The movie is 1 hour and 43 minutes long. I would say it was about 1 hour and 15 minutes of comedy and the rest was the attempt at an emotional part and character-building.
Are there any explicit content or scenes that may not be suitable for my family?
Yes. I would leave all your kids at home for this movie. Even leave your adult kids at home because the entire movie is about sexual content. I think it would be an uncomfortable time with your family even if they are older. You should consider this movie a friends-only movie.
Does the movie have any controversial or sensitive themes?
I didn’t notice any controversial or sensitive themes except for the entire plot of the movie. It wasn’t political at all. Now the entire concept of the movie was not Christian-like at all. It is meant to make you laugh and that is it.
Who are the main actors in the movie?
The movie stars are the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence and the Broadway star, Andrew Barth Feldman. They both play their parts perfectly. You end up really cheering for their relationship during several parts of the movie.
You also get to see Matthew Broderick in the film. He does a great job and it is fun to see him play the older father in the film.
Although the movie is a complete comedy, the performances of the actors were great.
Is the movie based on a true story?
Geez, I hope it isn’t based on a true story but what I learned is shocking. The director, Gene Stupnitsky revealed at CinemaCon that it is based on a real Craigslist ad. That has to be some toxic relationship for this poor kid. As for a book, nope. No Hard Feelings is not based on a book.
Are there any notable soundtracks or songs in the movie?
There is a common theme around the Daryl Hall & John Oates’s Maneater song. It is mentioned more than once in the movie.
What are the best No Hard Feeling Quotes from the movie?
- I love movie quotes but this one was “hard” (pun intended) to write because of the foul language. But there are some good ones worth mentioning.
- “I wanted closure and I got closure.” -Gary (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)
- “The human body is a cash cow.” -Jim (Scott MacArthur)
- “I just know my mom would want me to keep the house.” -Maddie Barker (Jennifer Lawrence)

“I will date him real hard.” -Maddie Barker
- “Why do you want to adopt a dog?” – Percy Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman)
“Because I can’t have one of my own.” -Maddie Barker - “You look like an accountant in the Bahamas.” -Maddie
