I had the pleasure in screening Amy Schumer’s movie, “I Feel Pretty”. I thought the movie was going to be another slap stick comedy. I thought that Renee, played by Schumer, would be the average girl who felt ugly bumped her head and thought she was beautiful and then made a fool of herself. There is much more to this movie than what I thought.
“I Feel Pretty” is not only a movie made for women, but it is also a movie about confidence. So many women try to live up to what the world wants us to be and the most beautiful part of the world is when we can just be ourselves.
I watched the movie with two good friends and not only did we laugh really hard during most of the movie, but I heard my good friend say that this is her new favorite movie. This is the movie that I want to own for when I have a day where I have lost my confidence and I feel bad about the candy and snacked I stressed over after a long week! If you want to have a great time, get your friends together and plan a movie night! You are going to leave loving yourself and loving your friends!
In I FEEL PRETTY an ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis wakes from a fall believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?
