Research the price before you make a purchase. So many people have these small computers in their pockets, their smart phones. Don’t shy away from going to your web browser and searching the product you are looking to buy for a cheaper price. If you find one, ask their customer service if they would be willing to match or beat the price you found. You will be surprised how many stores are willing to work with you.
Social Media. Search for coupons from your phone too! Check the store’s facebook and twitter for posted coupons. Many stores will let you search your e-mail and online and let you use your phone for extra savings. I have done this several times. I have done this at Chili’s, IHOP, and Children’s Place. These are the most recent stores I have done this with. This is a way to save money even on those impulse purchases. Remember that sometimes it is just a generic coupon code for the store to use. Just ask! It doesn’t hurt.
Use Apps!
-
- When grocery shopping save your receipt! There are apps like Ibotta that will let you earn cash back on your purchases!
- Also, use ShopKick to earn points as you enter stores!
- NEW app called Yuilop where you can use it on your phone for free minutes and texts! This could be fun for your young teens who are already on mobile devices!
There are tons more apps that you can use! I love them and love saving money and earning rewards with them. I just wanted to remind everyone that it isn’t JUST apps that can save you money but doing your research on price, your search on coupons, and of course earning rewards! ENJOY!
Disclosure: I am a Verizon Savers Voice ambassador and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product. So I was honest! 🙂

I’m more interested in how you became a Verizon Savers Voice ambassador. I’m currently with out transportation and unemployed due to to my car problem. I do use Verizon Wireless as my mobile phone carrier. Do you have any links or info on how to get hooked up on this deal?
Thanks,
Teena

Hello Teena,
I was put on their press list after attending a blogger conference. I am not positive how I was chosen other than my site at times focusses on not just saving money but also technology. I am also a computer teacher (that is my real job). I also tweet a lot when I see Verizon trending! I don’t remember filling out any form or anything like that.
