When I first started collecting Loungeflys, I joined groups and there was a popular Disney Marvel Loki Loungefly Counterfeit bag that collectors kept getting scammed on when purchasing. The question now is, “How to Tell if a Loungefly is Fake?” This is a great question as people get scammed more and more every year between fake sellers and fake Loungefly Backpacks.
I created a list of tips to help you not get scanned. If you are a collector check out my Loungefly Collector’s Questions and get the rest of your questions answered. This post contains affiliate links.
How to Tell If a Loungefly is Fake?
Loungefly is a popular brand known for its licensed pop culture merchandise known for its backpacks. Some are limited edition and it has collectors really going crazy and looking for the diamond in the rough to add to their collections.
Loungefly Reputable Sellers
My first tip is to always purchase from reputable sellers: Buy from authorized retailers or Loungefly’s official website to minimize the chances of purchasing a fake item. Be cautious when buying from third-party sellers, especially if the deal seems too good to be true.
My favorite sellers are:
You definitely want to proceed with caution when purchasing from Facebook Marketplace, Mecari, eBay, and more. Never accept Venmo or Cash apps as a form of payment.
Look at the stitching
Loungefly products are generally well-constructed with neat and even stitching. Check the seams and edges for any loose threads, uneven stitching, or frayed areas. At times my Loungefly bags might have one or two bad stitches but if you ever have a problem and purchase from a reputable seller you can reach out to them.
Inspect the Material
Loungefly uses high-quality material. It isn’t really leather but it feels nice. Check the texture, feel, and look of the material. It should be smooth, consistent, and durable. Cheap or inferior materials may indicate a fake.
Pay attention to the Detail
Take a look at the details of the bag. Check the tags some Loungefly tags have metal plates and others are stitched on but it is always unique to the bag.
Make sure the zipper hardware and the inner fabric match what is advertised for the bag. Loungefly has unique inside material that is themed to the bag and the zippers are labeled with their brand along with sometimes having a charm that hangs off the zipper.
Counterfeit items may have misspelled words, blurry logos, or poorly printed labels.
Inspect the Price
If it is too good to be true, it is probably fake. While pricing can vary depending on sales and promotions, be cautious if the price seems significantly lower than the market value. Counterfeit products are often sold at discounted prices to lure unsuspecting buyers.
If you are shopping from a site that isn’t a reputable or licensed retailer, be sure to search the image and make sure it isn’t an image stolen from the internet. I often do a reverse image search to make sure it is their image and not one from eBay or Mecari.
