Last week I was granted the once in a lifetime experience of attending a New York Gods of Egypt Red Carpet Event and After Party! After finding out that I would be attending, I spent the next two weeks worrying about every detail of my outfit, what I would say when I came in contact with the stars, and overall just day dreaming of how amazingly awesome it would be.
Before I knew it, I blinked… and the day had come! My Husband and I boarded a plane to NYC, where the was pouring raining and a chilly 30 or so degrees.
I worried for a bit how the weather would affect the event, but we quickly learned that a little weather doesn’t stop anything in the big apple! The show must go on! And so it did. After a bit of sightseeing, we returned to our room to begin getting ready for the event. An hour or so later and we were meeting up with the team from Lionsgate and being bussed over to the event!
As I mentioned earlier, it happened to be raining pretty heavily in NYC that day. The entire Red Carpet event had to be moved indoors, so that changed the set up quite a bit. My husband and I were ushered in the AMC Loews in Lincoln Square with the rest of the social media team. We had time for just a few selfies with some of the other social media influencers, and a couple of pics on the red carpet before we were ushered upstairs to the theater.
Due to the limited space inside, and potential security hazards, there just wasn’t any space to hang around and gawk at all of the beautifully dressed stars (don’t worry, we got to do that later at the after party!).

Once we made it to the theater, we were provided popcorn and beverages to enjoy during the movie. The weather related event changes caused the movie premiere to be delayed just a bit. Looking around the theater, it didn’t appear that anyone minded one bit! We took selfies, socialized, and had a good old time.
And then… right as the lights dimmed and the movie began, it happened. I spotted Gerard Butler and the rest of the cast taking their seats, just a few rows behind me!
What better way for a movie to begin?
