Get a Free Comic Book on Halloween
Candy isn’t the only thing you can get for free on Halloween. The comic book industry is organizing their annual Halloween ComicFest at local comic book shops all across the country. Similar to the Free Comic Book Day, which is celebrated on the first Saturday of May, Halloween ComicFest will have special comic book issues that will be offered for free at participating shops.
This year, there are titles offered featuring some of the most popular characters in comics including Harley Quinn, Batman, Dr. Strange, and Spider-Man. The organizers are also hosting a costume contest which I presume will be held by online photo submission. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a $500 gift certificate to their local comic book shop.
When I went to the Free Comic Book Day event at my local comic book shop, we not only got free issues for the year, we also were able to get free issues from past years. They separated the freebies in bins and each person was allowed to pick one from each bin. I’m sure other comic book stores have their own way of organizing their giveaways, but nonetheless, you’re sure to come out with at least one comic book.
I think that this event will be a great place to take the kids on Halloween. Lots of people show up to Free Comic Book Day dressed up as their favorite superhero or comic book character. I’m sure that so many more people will show up in costume during Halloween ComicFest. Your kids will have a blast dressed up and seeing others dressed up, too!
