How was the Gallows Movie? – My thoughts from the Red Carpet!
The Gallows Red Carpet Kansas City: Do you like scary movies? Have you heard of Warner Brothers new movie, the Gallows? The Gallows is a paranormal slasher movie. I was invited to attend the Kansas City Red Carpet event where I met and was able to talk to the two directors Travis Cluff and Chris Lofting!
The story of how their movie got to the big screen is amazing! They went and invested money into creating a trailer for the film, entered it into a contest, won, and then eventually big eyes noticed the film and it was picked up by Russ Simmons from New Line!
It got enough attention from Hollywood to be able to put it in theaters all over the nation! Both of these directors were extremely humble! Even Chris had his sister and parents at the screening. They admitted to not believing in paranormal activity even though Travis and Chris shared with me the wacky things that happened on set, which could have been ghost related!
The Gallows already broke a record before opening day! They are the least expensive movie to ever be made to go to a theatrical release! Both of these men were extremely humble!
How was the Gallows Movie? – Gallows Movie Review
First of all let me tell you that I am not one to pick and go and see scary movies. I use to LOVE watching them and wanted to see every single one that came into theaters until I had kids. They started to freak me out a little too much! I liked the movie! I was impressed on how much these two young directors had accomplished. I thought the story line was GREAT and even liked the creepy ending!
During the filming, the viewers were being recorded as well. I couldn’t help but keep my face covered at every single scary part and even grab my friend at every scream! It has been awhile since I have been to a movie where I heard people yelling at the screen to run! It definitely made seeing the movie fun!
About Chris and Travis
They are so humble and so nice and also so young! Travis who once won 50K on Wipe Out has his own funny background. Chris is very short and looks like he has been drinking from the fountain of youth I have wanted to find for the last 5 years! Travis at the beginning of the screening tells us that, “little guys can do big things too—no pun intended.” Then he glances at Chris. Chris replies with, “What a JERK!” The entire theater was chuckling before the movie began! Both young directors are funny and I can’t wait to see where else their careers take them!
Question: I overheard you say that there were some crazy things that happened on set, can you tell me about it?
Chris: On the stage especially, we experienced a lot of things. There would be rattling chains in the catwalk. We would have this pounding sound right above our heads that always happened. We would have camera lights go out, heard door closings, and seats squeaking. I just HEARD IT.
Travis: The biggest one … was during this attic scene Pfeifer alone was in this scene. Chris started them off and REESE said he heard a voice whisper his name and it felt like it was right here. It went, “REESE”. They went running so fast and that was the last take of that film.
Question: Do you believe in ghosts and paranormal activity?
Chris: My beliefs have been heightened after this. There are spirits that have not gone where they were supposed to and they are stuck here.
Travis: We looked up haunted places, we scouted them out. All of the places we scouted everyone all had stories….where they had heard and seen.
Chris: Also did research on all these other movies too!
ME: I hope it isn’t too scary!
Travis: We shot it for PG 13 because I have kids, so there is no sex, or drugs,….or anything like that…AND it got an R rating!
So there you go folks! BE sure to check out The Gallows in theaters TODAY! Leave the young kids at home!
***Be sure to go and see the Gallows! Opens July 10, 2015! I hope you enjoyed my interview! Now let me know if you caught yourself covering your face and screaming like I did!***

I saw the commercials for this on the ScyFy channel and that scared me. I think this would be a fun date night film for Hubby and me.
