This Art of Animation story is brought to you by DisneyKids Press Trip. All opinions are our own.
Our latest trip to Orlando found us staying at Disney’s Art of Animation. This was met with a mix of excitement and apprehension if I’m being totally honest. Our past trips we stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, just a short walk from Magic Kingdom. During check-in I realized Art of Animation will be far more favored by my daughters as they rushed to the easels set up outside the front door and started drawing. After entering the front doors you are overwhelmed by every color in the rainbow and after a quick chat with the cast member that checked us in we were free to explore this massive resort.
Disney’s Art of Animation Amenities
The amenities include everything that you’d come to expect in a Disney resort including optional babysitting, dry-cleaning, a 24 hour laundry room, pools, play areas, arcade, quick-service restaurant and huge Disney gift store! The thing that makes Art of Animation so unique is the complete immersion and embracing of Disney’s most popular animated movies. With huge displays for The Little Mermaid, Lion King, Cars and Finding Nemo. The Finding Nemo section boasts the largest pool area but there are also smaller pools in the Cars and Little Mermaid sections and a huge playground in the Lion King Section.
The incredible displays provide amazing photo opportunities for your family but they also give you the feeling of entering one of these great Disney animated movies! Our suite was in the Cars’ section of the resort and it was fantastic for us. We were able to keep the kids in a separate room giving all of us a much easier and more restful sleep!
Disney’s Art of Animation Provides Plenty to Entertain
We love the Contemporary, but one thing I noticed as the weekend went on at Art of Animation was how much our 6 year old wanted to come back and do things at the resort. We spent time at the pool, played in the arcade and shopped more in our hotel than in any of the four parks (something we’ve never done before).
The girls loved seeing all of the incredible characters and really loved the ability to trade pins, something that is much more available at this resort than we noticed at Contemporary. As I read the downside of staying in one of the Value Resorts is their distance from the parks but what we found is that this made visiting all of the parks rather than spending most of the time in the Magic Kingdom.
We loved Disney’s Art of Animation and for younger kids it’s a huge boost to have so many different sights, sounds and events to draw them in and keep their attention. It’s very likely that our next visit to Disney World which hopefully will come sooner than later we will again stay in Art of Animation!
There were tons of activities at this resort! These activities consisted of movie nights, an animator teaching classes, and pool parties!
Disney’s Art of Animation Family Suite
While visiting Disney World with my family our room was a family suite and we loved it! We were in the Cars section of the resort! There were some awesome characters all over the park from the movie and many many photo opportunities! It was inside the room where our family felt like home! The family suite had a living room area with pull out sofa bed! A fridge, microwave, paper plates, bowls, and cups were all useful during our stay especially for some cereal and snacks for the preschooler! It is a hit or miss if she eats well or not. The suite also had another full bed that folds up into a table! We found the separated bedroom great to actually get our kids to nap throughout the day! Plus, the two bathrooms were amazing to get us to get ready on time and make work a tight schedule to get in lots of activities and events!
The room was really comfortable and I didn’t feel like we were ever on top of each other as a family. When we needed some extra blankets they were right there. Also the walk was really close to the front of the resort to catch our bus! At least it felt really short because there was so many amazing things to see and take pictures of to check out! During out next stay, I hope to spend a day and evening enjoying the resort and activities!

Oh wow, this looks lovely!
I’ve always wanted to take the kids to Disney World, only making sure to do it when they’re old enough to truly enjoy it, properly use the passes and have fun on the rides. We kept delaying things but also keep having babies so I’m thinking we’ll have to go sooner, rather than later or we’ll be heading there as my son’s going into college lol

What a wonderful place to take kids. Disney does it better than anyone, don’t they? I had no idea about this resort.

I have wanted to visit this resort for ever. My kids would love it there. You convinced me also that it would be pretty perfect for us actually. My kids love to draw.
