My 7 year old hasn’t read the Captain Underpants books but she wants to now. She loved the movie and during it she was grinning from ear to ear! I thought the movie was funny and very well written. As a matter of fact, our entire family enjoyed the film! So did our amazing contributor, Movie Myla! The parallels that the movie had with actual comics were very fun as a superhero movie fan! If you are looking for a good movie for the entire family, Captain Underpants is definitely one! My 3 year old liked it as well. She did learn a new word when watching the film, “Professor Poopypants.” When they were looking for quotes as we were leaving the film she said, “It was SUPER!”
I personally am very interested in reading the books now and hope to purchase a few of them to read with my daughter. She really seems to like funny books and she loves to read.
So if you are thinking about taking your family to see this movie, I would tell you to go and do it! It was fun for the entire family, it kept us on the edge of our seats laughing and it had some great morals of the story! You can definitely begin some good discussions with your school age kids about joking, laughing, laughing at yourself, being responsible, and using your imagination! This movie is “mommy approved” and “teacher approved”!
I am really hoping there are move Captain Underpants movies in the future!
