Have you ever watched a movie and thought, “I see where that guy is coming from…oh I see where he is coming from…oh wait no I see where…” The cycle goes on and on. Marvel does an amazing job in previous movies with villains and this same conflict creating much depth and complicated story lines. Enjoy my Captain America: Civil War Review is spoiler free! ENJOY it below!
Captain America: Civil War Review
What if this in depth conflict and compelling cases happen with two heroes in one movie. That is what Civil War is about. This is the 3rd movie in the Captain America series. To me, it felt like the 3rd Avengers. Except with that conflict throughout the film. That is what the Russo brothers were going for in this movie!
They did a good job. Before the movie, people were picking sides on whether or not they were on Team Iron Man or Team Captain’s side. While watching the movie I flip flopped more than the average politician!
A quote from the Russo brothers about this very conflict was, “Our goal was to tell the story in such a way that both sides have really compelling cases. Both Tony Stark and Steve Rogers individually as characters have very compelling points of view. We wanted people to be conflicted and torn, which creates a sense of tension about what’s going to happen going forward after this film.”
After watching the film, it was my FAVORITE Marvel movie up to date. YES, I thought it was better than the first Avengers. Although, I found Guardians of the Galaxy to be the funniest (close 2nd would be Ant-Man)…I found that the story line is the best! There were lots of jokes and quotes in this one…as a matter of fact I wrote out pages worth when reviewing the movie! You just might find yourself tearing up during this film! Plus, there is Spider-Man! 🙂
I am a big Marvel geek, but after watching this movie, I wished that I had recently been able to watch all of the previous films more recently. It was because the story was so good, and so in depth, that I wanted to learn more about every single character…and there were a lot! A lot of great ones! So go see the movie, then go home and re-watch all of the Avengers and Captain films…THEN go back to the movie and watch it again! I know that is tons of homework, but trust me you WANT to see this film, then it is going to inspire you to get back into the story (like Avengers did), and then you are going to want to see Civil War again!
Be sure to book your tickets today! Movie will be in theaters May 6th!
