Valentine’s Day gift ideas that will reinvigorate your New Year’s resolution are smart ways to keep you and your hubby on track towards the person you want to be. This year the hubby resolved to get rid of a lot of the unnecessary clutter. Our house is no mansion but it’s plenty big enough for the 6 of us. Problem is we accumulate “stuff” like we have a mansion. He set out to get rid of some of his “stuff” by promising to reduce his t-shirts. And so the first two weeks he got rid of a few each week. Then he came home with two and we’re back into the old trap.
Campus Quilt – A great gift & a way to help unclutter!
So for his Valentine’s Day gift I was thrilled to be able to give him a beautiful quilt from Campus Quilt. I got the package in the mail and handed it to him and said “I want to help you with your resolution, Happy Valentine’s Day.” I said the only stipulation is you have to write the second half of my post so they know how much you like it! He kind of tilted his head like our dogs, furrowed his brow and said “Ok?” Then he sat down with the envelope and said, “Oh this is pretty cool…”
My Valentine’s Day gift was an Awesome Surprise
So Enza hands me an envelope, says “Happy Valentines Day, but you have to write about it.” I was confused and I sat down and tore into the envelope and a big plastic sack, three pieces of paper, a label, numbered stickers and a stack of fabric swatches fall out. At first it’s admittedly a little daunting but once I picked the size I was going to do it turned exciting.
Once you pick the size it’s a relatively quick and easy process. You grab your shirts, number them and then fill out the order form specifying the custom choices you have from backing to sashing. Campus Quilt is really awesome, if there are some abnormal sized shirts or specially cut shirts, they’ll work with you to get them perfect on your quilt.
I chose a 25 shirt quilt and went to work. For me it was much easier to snap a picture and create an image in Photoshop because we really don’t have an area to lay out all 25 shirts at our house without the girls messing with them. Once I had a picture of the shirts I arranged them then simply affixed the stickers to the shirt numbering 1 through 25 and stuck them in the bag they provided. Sealed the bag and stuck their label on the bag. Walked into a UPS store and was handed a receipt and that was that.
It’s amazing how much it freed up space in my drawers and really got me more focused on getting rid of clutter, which had been a goal of mine. In addition to these 24 shirts (I used a front and a back from one) I found several that just needed to go in the process. And the best part is instead of just parting ways with these shirts I love and the memories from them in the process I was able to make it into something that will go perfect in my Duck Den (my version of a Man Cave).
A few weeks later this amazing quilt showed up in the mail and was promptly placed on the recliner in my Duck Den. Even though Enza has repeatedly said “It’s so warm, we need to share it!” I would highly recommend getting your boyfriend or husband a Campus Quilt! It will free up a ton of space and he’ll love it!

Oh that is a great idea for shirts!!! Your quilt turned out really nice. I think John could easily fill a 25 shirt quilt.

That is such a fantastic idea!! My hubby has a ton of shirts with holes at the armpits that could use some repurposing like this!

That is so perfect! I have drawers full of t-shirts that I keep for sentimental reasons. This would be a great way to keep them close without filling up my room.
