The school I work at is in the inner city of Kansas City, Kansas. There are unique challenges this presents. Many of these students are immigrants that may not be as advanced in just the English language as other students. Given the right technology and devices the students are better able to work at a pace that fits their needs.
It allows the students to stay more organized by having all of their notes in one place rather than scattered all over the place in different notebooks and loose pieces of paper. It allows students to make more readable and professional looking assignments easier, and if needed make edits a lot faster and more efficiently than in the past.
Many of my students have busy lives and a lot of their parents are working long hours and multiple jobs. Getting a group together outside of school isn’t always the easiest task. With the right technology group projects and collaboration can take place without ever having to leave the house!
