I promised everyone a Bargain Baby Update! It is late and I am a little sleep deprived so ignore all of the typos and grammar mistakes.
I had taken my 38 week belly picture and that night before I can write an update I went in to labor! Now, I realize that my baby story and how I deliver is personal and some others might not agree with what I had decided is best for me and my family so please don’t judge me.
Let me start off by saying don’t hate me! Why? My contractions never hurt. I awkwardly always thought that they felt good. Monday night I knew that a full moon was coming, Kate had her baby (I was born around the same time Princess Diana got married 32 years ago), AND I had my daughter at 38 weeks too. So I was hoping she would come soon! Well I had my friend who is a Post Pardon nurse come over and I was getting contractions. I would tell her each time I would get one and she kept watching the time. I didn’t know how long they were really lasting because they didn’t hurt. Well she didn’t want to leave me until my husband got home and wondered if I should go in to L&D or not. I told my husband I would only go if I drove myself. He didn’t buy it. So I told him I would go in the morning if I woke up and still felt them and they were timed.
Tuesday morning I woke up early on purpose (remember these contractions never hurt and I thought they felt good). I wanted to time them to determine if my husband should go to work or if I should go to L&D to have them monitor them. So they were still happening every 3-5 minutes. I called up to the hospital and they said if that happens for longer than 2 hours to come in…I figured 10 hours was enough to go in and get checked out. I hesitantly packed my bag. So as we get there I had about 3 workers from the hospital tell me…”well you look fine…”. So I get all hooked up to the monitors and every time I felt a contraction it didn’t register. I did notice the baby’s heartbeat going up for each one. The nurse didn’t believe I was having them and wondered if the baby was just moving. Finally 45 minutes later when I called her to tell her…I know I am having them and they aren’t being registered she moved around my monitor and they are started to show up. Within that hour my body changed from a 4 to a 5. She didn’t want to tell me that I had changed and said (you changed a little bit). I think that is quite the change personally. So my doctor told them to admit me and I got to sign in right away. An hour later I was at a 6 and still didn’t hurt. They also eventually needed to give me a little bit of Pitocin. My doctor came and broke my water. I was at a 7 and they started to hurt a bit. So after about an hour I had them bring on the an epidural (yes don’t judge me). I eventually made it to a 10 and the nurse told me to do a few practice pushes. She had to tell me to stop them and not to push anymore no matter what. 🙂 I knew that meant we were close. So I made it though ONLY one contraction once the doctor arrived and I was supposed to push for 10 seconds. At 7 seconds the nurse said to “STOP”. I wasn’t totally sure why until I looked down and she was born! It was 8:02pm! We had been at the hospital since about 9:15am. So technically I labored for about 24 hours BUT it was a pleasant experience!
In only a day and a half we were able to take home our new little girl! I have so much more to type and want to say…but mommy needs some rest!
Thank you for reading and for not paying attention to my typos and grammar mistakes on this post.

Congrats!!!
Every birth is different, nobody should judge you on the epidural, or any choices made during it. I’m happy things went well. I had an epidural for my first, my second came within 2 hours, no time for anything… you never know. Enjoy!!! Good Luck!!!

Congrats Mama!! She’s beautiful!! No judging here. I signed in and right after signed for an epidural…PRONTO!!! Did it with all three! (Had a broken rib with the first one so epidural was a blessing). Time goes fast so enjoy every moment. My oldest is 13 and youngest 10….the middle one 11.
