When it comes to Angry Birds there is Angry Birds Bird Island and there is Angry Birds Pig Island. If you play the app you are probably familiar with both!
In the new Angry Birds Movie we learn why the Angry Birds are angry. We learn that those nasty little pigs are trying to take over their island and in several mean ways.
I recently was invited to Maui Hawaii by Sony to experience the Angry Birds Press Junket in Hawaii and engage in what we called “Bird Island” which to us humans was Maui!
In the movie it was important to Bird Island that the pigs didn’t interfere with the home and their nature. Our tour guides shared this same information to us tourists while visiting and especially when snorkeling!
Our Angry Birds Bird Island Experience in Maui:
We experienced some Yoga to help with Anger Management
We then took flight while Zip-lining because like the Angry Birds we don’t know how to fly but really want to be able to do it.
We had a Luau, which was super amazing that I will share with all of you soon!
Then we also went snorkeling and swimming with the fish and sea turtles!
My Snorkeling Experience on Bird Island
Like the movie, we were strictly guided to not try to grab the fish or the turtles. I am not the best swimmer and so lucky for me I was geared up with a life jacket, flippers, and the full gear! I also took my phone down under with me and recorded some of the fishes and tried my best to get to record the turtles.
Forget everything you have heard about turtles…those guys can swim a lot faster than I can swim! I tried my best to snap some pictures but as soon as I would get in a good distance I would lose the cute little guy.

It’s a beautiful place in Maui – but I have to confess – I’ve never even heard of Angry Birds (I guess it would have helped if I had kids 😀 )
