This Illustrated Guide to the Spider-Verse Review is written by my 14-year-old daughter and avid Spider-Man reader after watching Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse and beginning her own self-study of everything Spider-Man!

Illustrated Guide to the Spider-Verse Review
The Illustrated Guide to the Spider-Verse is a book written about various spiders and they stand out from the others.
Gwen’s Perspective
It’s written from the perspective of Gwen Stacy from Reality-65, hence giving it some context on how she personally distinguishes the different Spider-Men.
She also recommends that you shouldn’t call them by names such as ‘Spider-Punk’ or ‘Old Man Spider’ and just refer to them by either their names or just as ‘Spider-Man.’ If you love Spider-Punk check out what we shared about everything we know about Spider-Punk!
Gwen goes through and explains her relationships with each Spider.
You can feel the admiration when she tells you about Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew.
Spiders from the Movies
The book shows you both spiders from both movies, such as Sp//dr and Spider-Man Noir, as well as Spider-Man India, Spider-Man 2099, and so many more!
It included a ton of Spiders you only saw in the comics, which makes it a great start if you’d like to begin reading series such as Edge of the Spiderverse.
Web-Slinger (Reality – 31913) and Scarlet Spiders (Reality – 616) also make an appearance!
It didn’t include every Spider, which isn’t surprising because that would be almost impossible, but it includes some from the very first issues of Edge of the Spiderverse, Neith (Reality-001) and Petra (Reality-423) are two of many Spider that didn’t get an appearance at all.
Also, Sun-Spider (Reality-20023) didn’t make an appearance, which surprises me.
Of course, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales were there. It’d be weird not to have them! It explained how 90% of Spiders are Peter Parkers but not all of them.
Each page had a different tone, as Peter Parkedcar (Reality-53931) just had an exasperated reaction from Gwen, while she seemed very eager to talk about Miles Morales, Jessica Drew, Spider-Man Noir, and a few more.
The book emphasized the characters there making spin-offs of, as well as the live-action series Amazon Prime is making.
It tells you a summary about many of the Spider’s, giving their names and at least one fun fact about each one. You can tell which ones are more optimistic just by how Gwen described them.
