In theaters and streaming now is The Boss Baby: Family Business, the sequel to the Oscar-nominated The Boss Baby. The Boss Baby: Family Business starts with a grown-up Tim (James Marsden) and a grown-up Ted (Alec Baldwin), well, grown-up. And apart. Read our The Boss Baby: Family Business Review and then enter the giveaway below! The two brothers don’t stay the best of friends as was hoped for in the first movie and as Mrs. and Mr. Templeton (Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel) recount in the current movie. Ted has married and has two daughters whom he dotes on. Ted is busy being a successful businessman (duh). The brothers see less and less of each other. The one thing they can agree on? Their love of Tim’s daughters and Ted’s nieces, Tina (Amy Sedaris) and Tabitha (Ariana Greenblatt). The two of them will do anything for the next generation of Templetons. This is where the movie begins.
We are excited to share our review with you along with giving away a family four pass to see the movie in theatres. Be sure to enter for a chance to win below!
The Boss Baby: Family Business Review
While Tabitha is busy being a very smart and successful second-grader, Tina is now in the family business working for Baby Corp. Tina enlists her father and her uncle to help bring down Dr. Armstrong (Jeff Goldblum) who happens to run Tabitha’s evil yet really cool school. Tim and Ted become a second grader and baby once again to help end Dr. Armstrong’s ‘Children of the Corn’ plot to get rid of parents.
Along the way we are going to learn some important lessons (it is a kids’ movie, after all): siblings need to stick together, it’s okay to stay young at heart, parents should be in the moment and not on their phones all of the time, if you’re good you’ll get a pony, etc.
The Boss Baby: Family Business is much more relatable to kids than the first film. The movie is more about school and kid concerns as opposed to business. I mean, jokes about memos are funny but the first film went a little heavy with the work funny situations that left kids out. That’s not to say that adults won’t find this movie hilarious. The ratio of kid humor is just turned up more here. Also, the two younger Templetons are more loving and easier to root for than the brothers. Both movies offer a lot of heart. And talking alarm clocks.
