My first time in a long time to see a new release (that wasn’t my private advance screening) to see a movie in the theatre! This time it was Disney’s Cruella. I did save some of my favorite Cruella movie quotes from the movie and also wanted to share my movie review with you.
The movie was amazing, clever, and Disney did a great job at allowing you to learn a story and fall in love with Cruella. Don’t worry you love her like a villain, but now you recognize her devilish ways. I have a bunch of favorite parts of the movie including some quotes that stuck with me for just being straight-up clever lines, the costuming (as a theatre nerd the costume and makeup don’t get ignored by me), and of course the characters and acting her spectacular!
Cruella Movie Quotes
There are a lot of great quotes from the movie. The one that made me so excited was the reference of the Blitz. I didn’t hear the theatre go as crazy as I thought they should but perhaps the quote went over their heads. The quote was from Emma Thompson who plays The Baroness and she tells the store manager from The Liberty, “Your store hasn’t been refurbished since the blitz.” Of course, I knew Disney likes to throw in these little clever lines and quotes which makes some of us Disney nerds super excited!
“Your name is Estella not Cruella.” – Mom
“I am a woman. Hear me roar.” – Cruella (Emma Stone)
“I find friends in unlikely places.” – Cruella
“Sad story. Genius girl turns into stupid girl and gets her mom killed.” – Cruella
“If you can dream it. I can dress it.” -Artie (John McCrae)
“I am just getting started, darlin'” -Cruella
“I was born brilliant, born fast, and a little bit mad.” – Cruella
“I do love trouble.” -Artie
“Why are you speaking?” -The Baroness (Emma Thompson)
“I think you nicked me.” – Estella (Emma Stone)
“I am Cruella.” – Cruella
“You can’t care about anyone else. Everyone else is an obstacle. If you care what an obstacle feels, you’re dead.” – The Baroness
“Your store hasn’t been refurbished since the blitz.” -The Baroness
“Love me into shape. I suppose that was the plan.” – Cruella
“There is something about poetic justice that is so poetic.” -Cruella
Who is young Estella?
Here is one I had to google. The actress’s name is Tipper Seifert-Cleveland and she is remarkable. I had to look her up when I got home because I thought for sure she had played many roles in Hollywood! She has a little bit of experience on her resume but this for sure is her breakout role!
Cruella Review
Remarkable, spectacular, and a must-see. I am so happy I didn’t miss this movie. I totally missed my email on an advanced screening and decided I wanted to go to the theatre to see it and it did not disappoint. I personally did not feel it was too scary for kids, but perhaps if you have sensitive toddlers you might want to skip out. I read about it being too scary so chose to not take my young daughter, and darn it….now I will be watching it again with her. It was JUST RIGHT.
There was a scene in the movie where Cruella is driving like a madwoman, and you totally picture the animated Cruella driving. This reminder/flashback that happened is great for my nostalgia.
Be sure to stay after the credits start rolling for a bit of a teaser. Disney definitely opened it up for a possibility for another live-action 101 Dalmations, which would be amazing in my opinion.

About Cruella
Academy Award® winner Emma Stone stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
