Knives Out by Myla Tosatto
Okay. Let’s get this straight. I’m not going to tell you ANYTHING about this movie. I mean, anything. I can’t. It’s a murder mystery that twists and turns and twists again. It’s a story that would make Agatha Christie and Jessica Fletcher proud (and leave them blushing, too from the language and situations). You don’t want me or anyone else spoiling it for you. Right?
Well, I will tell you this. It is a FUN movie. Fun with a capital F. Nothing is played straight in Rian Johnson’s star studded whodunnit. Every actor on that screen is having the time of their lives even as something earth shattering happens to them. One can’t help but party it up with them. Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Daniel Craig and Don Johnson are especially fierce and funny. Chris Evans gets the plum role of playing the anti-Captain American scumbag. Michael Shannon, LaKetih Stanfield, and Christopher are their reliable strong selves. Ana de Armas portrays the moral heart and center of the movie.
That’s it. That’s all you’re getting. *
This one comes out just in time for Thanksgiving. This is excellent timing to pack up the family and see this PG-13 movie. Sure there’s murder and mayhem and a gross spider, but what’s not to love? I am totally seeing this over the Thanksgiving weekend with my family. The 80-year-olds are going to get such a kick out of it! And so will the 25-year-old. If I had a 12 year-old, I would take them also.
*Be done with your movie snacks by the end of the movie. Don’t ask me why. Just trust me.
