My family and I were so excited to do an early screening for our Toy Story 4 Review. What did I love most about the movie? Was it too sad? Was it too scary? What questions did Pixar leave me with?
We took the two days prior to our screening and we binged watched the first three. All the emotions came back and our favorite Pixar series was a blast to rewatch. Prior to screening the movie early, my entire family was ready to watch Toy Story 4.

Will Toy Story 4 be too sad?
The first question that I had prior to seeing the movie was how sad is the movie. It is very tough to get me to cry in a movie. I am SUPER sensitive but I really focus on the story telling, character buildup, scene creations, and all the movie nerd things that a computer teacher’s analytical side falls into. SO, I am going to tell you to get one tissue ready. Not an entire box, but only one tissue. The very end of the movie is sad it is very sad, but the writers could have made it more sad. It was almost bitter sweet. We already said by to Woody once so it wasn’t as sad as Toy Story 3 but it definitely had the Pixar touch to it.
Was Toy Story too scary?
The trailer had me a bit nervous to watch the movie with my kids. Yes, Forkie was funny and hilarious and a big part of the movie, but what was up with those super creepy tranquilest dummies? They reminded me of Goosebumps 2 They were creepy and scary in the trailer and there was at least one part that made us jump. My kids didn’t cry and it wasn’t too scary because it was quickly followed with humor. I thought they brought a great sense of humor. I loved going through antique malls but when I was little they were creepy to me. They always had old creepy dolls sitting in China cabinets. So learning about their story was fun!
What I loved about Toy Story 4?
Overall the movie was amazing. Possibly the best one out of all 4. Don’t be hating on me for saying that but there were a lot more laugh out loud parts and Forkie was just so funny. The laughter and claps from the theater were great too and added an element of fun by seeing the movie in the theater. The story line was really clear and the toys had another huge adventure like always. I definitely loved the movie and I give it several thumbs up (me, the kids, and the husband!)! They are already asking for the DVD and the movie isn’t even out yet.
I loved the different diversity of toys. We now have not only owned toys, garage sale toys, and daycare toys, but we also added antiques, carnival toys, and homemade toys to the mix.
What question did I still have leaving the movie?
Pixar does an amazing job and depicting stories, but there was one tiny tiny tiny element that I wondered about in the beginning of the movie. I quickly forgot about it and then my husband brought it up and the end of the movie. Bonnie leaves for kindergarten orientation and none of the parents were sad about it. Since I work so early, my husband was always the one to drop my kids off for their first day of daycare and their first day of school. Most of the parents are super sad about this huge event in their kids lives. I cried quite a bit during my lunch breaks and got to the point that my daughter’s teacher had to call me. I might be shedding a tear or two right now writing about this time in our lives. So the question is, whey did none of the parents appear sad. I know not everyone is sad when they drop their kids off, but I thought even the teacher patting a back or two would have made sense in that situation.
