When it comes to snacking this summer, we are always looking for either something to keep us cool, a sweet treat, or healthy nutrients to keep us going in between meals!
Summer Snack Ideas
Ice Cream: Ice Cream is always a great reward treat for my kids and me when we need something to cool off for the summer. On a nice day, we take our ice cream outside to eat because it is much easier to keep the kitchen clean when we snack outside.
Hiland Dairy’s products have added nutrients and protein, perfect for you and your kids’ healthy snacks and meals. Fill your body and stay energetic as much as possible! Their farm-fresh products are delicious, yet versatile, making it great to enjoy as is or incorporate into recipes! So eat most of their items as a perfect snack or have them ready to go for a great recipe!
Cheese: Everyone loves some delicious cheese! It is great to take with you on the go!
Yogurt: Healthy and delicious! Pair it up with some other foods to make a quick lunch or even breakfast!
Veggies and Dips: Create a yummy sour cream dip using Hiland Dairy Sour Cream and a Fiesta Ranch Packet. It makes for the yummiest of veggies dips of all time!
Fruit: All types of fruits are delicious for the summer. Our favorite is sliced watermelon, frozen grapes, and blueberries for when we go blueberry picking! We love putting it all together in a delicious smoothie! I love a yummy Strawberry Watermelon smoothie.
Mango salsa with tortilla chips: Combine diced mango, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice for a sweet and spicy salsa, and serve with tortilla chips. Check out our Mango Quesadilla if you need more than just a snack!
Popsicles: Blend your favorite fruits with yogurt or juice, pour into popsicle molds, and freeze.
Frozen yogurt bark: Spread Greek yogurt onto a baking sheet, top with your favorite fruits and nuts, freeze, and break into pieces.
Avocado toast: Spread mashed avocado on whole-grain toast and top with sliced tomatoes and everything bagel seasoning.
Take your snacks on the go!
I feel like an only lady but I always pack a cooler in the summer with snacks and drinks! I keep them in the car so that after our trips to the pool, park, and get together with friends my kids and I can enjoy some snacks and drinks to make it home for lunch.
Summer picnics are always so much fun and a great way to save money in the summer!
