Marvel’s newest movie is a great link to Avengers: End Game! I am excited to be sharing my Captain Marvel review with all of you, and I hope you go and see the movie in the theater for yourself. If I were to compare the movie, I think I would say it reminds me most of the GOTG series. I would say all of the 80s and 90s nostalgia, along with the creepy shapeshifters made me think that Peter Quill was going to walk out any moment and do an 80s vs 90s dance off.
Although the movie is all about Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, the other star in the movie who played just as big as a role as Brie did was Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson (as if you didn’t know). Wondering why he isn’t wearing an eye patch? Wondering why he wears one? Be sure to watch the movie to find out!
I loved seeing skrulls, shapeshifters in the movie. There are many times where you start to question if you are looking at a human or a skrull. The movie keeps you on edge and I definitely found it to be pure entertainment and a great family film.
I can’t leave Goose, the cat, out of the movie. Goose plays an important role in the film because eats everyone. KIDDING! I am not going to give you any crazy spoilers. I will tell you that Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is trying to figure out who she is and what her powers are in real life. It wouldn’t be a complete review if I don’t share that a lot of her character and strength comes from being a girl who has been told her entire life that she can’t do something but keeps on getting up and succeeding.
If you are a Stan Lee fan, then make sure you are NOT late to the movie. Let me repeat that, do NOT miss the intro. There might have been a pretty big reaction from the crowd with a beautiful and classic intro. Also, don’t you dare leave before the final end of credit scenes. This will help you with how Captain Marvel may or may not fit into Avengers: End Game. We are all still trying to heal from Infinity Wars. I am still mad. 😉
Captain Marvel is now playing in theaters!
