Are you Team Jack or Team Darcy?
Bridget Jones’s Baby Review
Myla Tosatto
In Bridget Jones’s Baby, we find our spirited heroine in her natural form- still a “singleton” asking herself, “How in the heck did I end up here again?” Luckily, everything soon changes and Bridget finally gets the life and movie she deserves. Plus, check out our Bridget Jones’s Baby movie quotes list!
With a fulfilling job and supportive friends, Bridget (Renee Zellweger) decides to live it up a bit. I don’t think I am spoiling anything here when I say that her “living it up” leads to an unplanned pregnancy where the father is unknown. The two possible contenders are Jack (Patrick Dempsey) and Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) who vie for the affection of Bridget. Please remember that Patrick Dempsey is called McDreamy for a reason and that Colin Firth is the original swoon-worthy Mr. Darcy from BBC’s Pride and Prejudice. This is a fortunate challenge for Bridget.
The movie is hilarious and fresh (not bad for a story that started back in 1995!) and slightly vulgar. Unless you want to give your kids a grown- up vocabulary lesson, leave them at home. Make this a girls’ night or a date night instead. Better yet, round up your reading group that read the original back in the late 90’s and make it the ultimate book club outing!
I’m glad to report that the Bridget Jones saga concluded perfectly: a satisfactory, smug ending.
Oh, and if you were wondering what happened to Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), you’ll have to see the movie. I am not spoiling that one!

I haven’t seen the first one yet. I’d want to watch that before watching this one I think.

This would be one hilarious movie. I loved the first one, Bridget Jones’ Diary. Renee Zellwegger portrayed the role really well. I want to see this new movie of hers too and I am excited to know what happened to the character Hugh Grant portrayed.

I didn’t know anything about this movie until I saw a preview the other day. Hopefully we can see it soon! Although we typically wait until movies are out on DVD before watching them.
