If you are looking for What Kids Shows Are on Netflix to watch with your kids…here is OUR list!
I would like to thank Enza’s Bargains for publishing this article on their site. I’ve found them to be a great resource for kids’ movies, and I would specifically recommend their take on Finding Dory.
If you’re a parent and are looking for a way to entertain your kids, then look no further than Netflix. There are so many amazing shows that you and your child could be enjoying on Netflix, and here are the ten best:
What Kids Shows Are on Netflix?
10. Back at the Barnyard
Back at the Barnyard is perfect if your family loves farm animals. In each episode of this show, a group of talking farm animals set off on brand new adventures. It features cows, pigs, chickens and many more of your favorite animals. All of the content is appropriate for your children, no matter their age. Never in the show is there any content that will scare your kids, and Back at the Barnyard is as clean as it gets.
- Powerpuff Girls
The concept of Powerpuff Girls may scare you away if you are a protective parent. A group of three girls fight crime and defeat forces of evil. This certainly doesn’t sound like a kids show, but trust me none of the content is inappropriate. With that being said, Powerpuff Girls may be better suited for children over seven years old due to the concepts discussed and vocabulary used.
- The Looney Tunes Show
No list of top 10 kids shows would be complete without mentioning Looney Tunes! There have been many iterations of Looney Tunes in the past, but the newer version may be the best choice for you and your kids. Some classics just don’t age well, and your children may dislike them. The Looney Tunes Show is a modern-day version featuring all of the best Looney Tunes characters. This is a silly, goofy, wacky and humorous show that will probably have your kids in stiches. Much like Back at the Barnyard, this is a perfect show no matter the age of your children.
Note that presently The Looney Tunes Show is only available on Netflix in Canada, but getting around those pesky geo-restrictions is as easy as downloading a Virtual Private Network (VPN). For more information on how to set up a VPN on your favorite devices, check out this article.
- Courage the Cowardly Dog
Courage the Cowardly Dog is an old Cartoon Network show that some may believe is a little too scary for children, so I highly recommend you watch a few episodes to make a judgment based on your specific children. While there isn’t any profanity, blood or extreme violence in this show, in every episode, something terrorizing happens to Courage’s family. However, if you give it a chance, it will highly entertain you and your kids.
- Dexter’s Laboratory
Dexter’s Laboratory follows an eight-year-old scientist named Dexter and how he spends his time in his secret laboratory. However, he has to deal with his pesky sister throughout the show. If you have a boy and a girl, then this show is perfect for them! They will relate to Dexter and his sister and their squabbles. Just make sure it never gets out of hand!
- Arthur
If you are a protective parent, then you and your kids should definitely watch Arthur on Netflix. It’s chock full of lessons on morals and upright behavior, hidden behind a loveable cast of talking animals. However, unlike Back at the Barnyard, these animals take on even more human characteristics, including going to elementary school! Even though this is an older show, the newer seasons are what’s available on Netflix, so your kids should still be able to relate to it.
- Ed, Edd n’ Eddy
Another classic show is Ed, Edd n’ Eddy. The story follows Ed, Edd and Eddy as they try to figure out a way to make money so they can buy their favorite candy. Eddy is the most controversial kid character in the group as he can sometimes border on inappropriate. However, it’s nothing that will have a bad influence on your children. For example, he can be quite the trickster when he tries to earn money. However, these three wackos will keep your kids entertained for weeks.
- What’s New Scooby-Doo?
Scooby-Doo is always an excellent choice for a TV show because it’s one that you probably grew up on. What’s better than having your kids watch the show that you grew up on? However, I would recommend What’s New Scooby-Doo? because it’s much more modern than the original. Everyone knows the story of Scooby-Doo, the Mystery Gang has to use their smarts and unmask the villain in each episode. I can’t imagine many kids would turn down an opportunity to watch What’s New Scooby-Doo?
- The Fairly OddParents
Kids have an enormous imagination, and that’s why The Fairly OddParents is such an amazing show. The main character has fairy godparents who can grant him any wish he wants, with a few rules. The concept of this show is one many kids dream about having, but because they know they can’t, they’ll soon realize the next best thing is to watch The Fairly OddParents. You could even have a little fun with your kids and grant them a wish for the day!
- SpongeBob SquarePants
If your kids aren’t already watching SpongeBob SquarePants, then they are missing out. As a parent, you are probably aware of this show and probably hate the unbelievably catchy theme song. However, there is a lot to love about SpongeBob and his gang of friends. Six full seasons are available on Netflix, but the first three seasons have the best material, in my opinion.
Are your kids watching any of these great shows? Are there any other great TV shows on Netflix that you recommend? We would love to know, so please, leave a comment below sharing your thoughts.
