I was provided an affordable 3D pen sample to review from AtmosFlare.
Technology, education, and kids are some of my really strong passions. As some of you may or may not know I have been a technology teacher for the last 10 years. I love allowing kids to learn through their own problem solving, exploring, and imagination while using what is new in technology! So when I was asked to write an AtmosFlare review for their affordable 3D pen I was excited to try it out for myself!
My daughters also love technology and I believe that kids today are technological learners. They are coding, building websites, and problem solving through invention and creation. The AtmosFlare 3D Drawing pen states that it is for kids ages 14+, but I totally let my 6 year old give it a try for a little bit. I felt that it was safe with adult supervision. Although the steady hand movement and complex design ideas that you need to make a creation was too advanced for her.
My initial reaction to the AtmosFlare pen is that I would give it two thumbs up! I thought it was an awesome gift idea, educational toy, and would be great for a classroom set or tech club at a school!
Easy to set up! It even came with a battery! When I purchase a new product, I am ready to use it! Also, if purchasing an affordable 3D pen as a gift, you want the person to not have to go and hunt down a battery in order to use their new gadget.
Educational! There are so many educational advantages to this pen. You really tricking yourself into learning. (That is why I like games too.) You are having to think outside of the box and instead of drawing in 2D like you have been taught since you were little, you are having to try to figure out how to move your hand to draw 3 dimensional. You are going to make mistakes and learn by them too. It takes a skill when you are trying to draw in mid air and all of a sudden your hand gets in the way of which way you wanted to turn. 🙂 This pen really uses both sides of your brain!
You also have to be creative. The first thing I started to do was research on what in the world I could create with a 3D pen. I found a lot of art-work and templates. What I liked the best was just coming up with a design myself. That is when I decided I would attempt to make 3D pen rings. These are fun and something I can potentially have my young daughter help me with!
Affordable: This pen is ONLY $29.99! That is so cheap! It comes with two ink colors and can definitely keep you designing, researching, learning, and most importantly having fun for hours! It is so cheap that if you have a tech club or wanted to purchase a classroom set it isn’t far off reach! It also makes a GREAT gift! I would definitely purchase this product myself now since I have had a chance to give it a try!
I had no clue what to expect when reviewing the AtmosFlare 3D Drawing Pen. I was a tad nervous because I didn’t know if the low cost would mean that it wouldn’t work or would be missing stuff I needed to play with….it didn’t. Give it a try today!

3D is all the rage but I remember in the 1990s when it was brand new technology. Now, it’s affordable, within reach of all!
