Disclaimer: I was invited on an expense paid trip to visit the set of Marvel’s new Ant-Man where I participated in a Judy Greer Interview. All opinions are my own.
The amazing and beautiful Judy Greer was so much fun to interview while I was on the set of Ant-Man back in November! She had been working on a very long Birthday Party scene, which we were able to watch while they were filming. Let me set up our interview scene for all of you! We are in Atlanta, Georgia in November. It was NOT warm. We were freezing. We had been carpooled by two different cars to get to the set because our set location was top secret. We were in a small little neighborhood with houses that backed up into an ally. There were camera equipment, tents, and Johnny on the Spots all around us.
It was freezing and all of us bloggers were hanging out in a tent behind the house in which the entire cast was filming a Birthday Party scene. In our little tent, we had a TV, headphones to hear what was going on in the house, and HUGE heaters because it was really cold.
We interviewed Judy at the very end of the day, and she had been working for hours! She was awake, upbeat, and beautiful! Before we began with our interview she mentioned that she was also working on a cookbook! So we know she has a lot going on in her future!
Judy Greer plays “Maggie”, which is Paul’s ex-wife in the movie.
We learned a lot from our Judy Greer interview. Here are some of the fun facts that she shared with us!
–She did have to audition for the part. (Some actors and actresses have parts writing for them.)
–She is very sarcastic. We quickly learned that she wasn’t into comics before this interview when she told us that “Comic books are great” in a very sarcastic and humorous voice. So why did she audition for the part? Judy mentioned, “I love Peyton Reed.” She also mentioned how excited she was for the comedy and that she loved Guardians of the Galaxy!
–She loved sharing information about her character to all of us.
While we were watching the filming we were able to witness Judy and Paul Rudd horse play a lot. So we asked, “We’ve heard you guys kind of cracking up and making jokes. And Paul Rudd was calling you dense and all of that. Was that something that was kind of consistent throughout the filming?” She talked about how they do play around and joke but she traveled back and forth a lot to film her scene and is amazed how many long hours it was when Paul had to do the long filming all day every day.
So what is next for Judy Greer?
“Well, I’m doing an independent movie called Geezer,” explained Judy, “It is starring Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day. And he sings me a song in the movie, and I’m really excited. And then I’m going to start Season 2 of my TV show called Married for FX, which we just found out got picked up like a month ago. And so the writers are writing episodes.”
Be sure to go and see Marvel’s NEW next BIG (or really really small) THING on July 17, 2015!
