Hey Kansas Citians time to sing “Happy Birthday Gertrude”!!! What do you have going on this Saturday and Sunday?!? GET TO SEA LIFE! Gertrude, the endangered green sea turtle we’re blessed to have in Kansas City is turning 2 and Sea Life is going all out! You can save $5 and help save sea turtles by bringing five plastic bags to admissions. Sea Turtles think they’re jellyfish when they see them in the ocean, so we have to get them out of landfills in in recycling bins!
In addition there are some amazing turtle crafts! On Saturday ONLY FROM 11am-2pm you can make your own clay turtle. Grab some clay make a turtle, then take it home and plant it in your garden and watch it grow grass! All weekend there is a create your own Gertrude craft that is a hands on project you get to take home.
In Turtle Theatre you can see Gertrude’s amazing journey to Kansas City from Florida, all weekend! And what’s a birthday party without cake?!? Cake will be available both Saturday ad Sunday, limited quantities available. While supplies last.
Remember to take tons of pictures and share them with me on Facebook! Sea Life staff highly recommends advance ticket purchases which you can do here: visitsealife.com/kansas-city
