If you love Marvel, you are totally watching or should be watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Now, Marvel is doing a NEW show called Agent Carter! You know Captain America’s love with the red hat who can kick some butt with S.H.I.E.L.D.?! This Marilyn Monroe inspired character teaches us that there is more behind the 40s professional dress and heels. Agent Carter is played by Hayley Atwell, where you had seen in the last Captain America movies and during the Agent Carter Marvel One Shot.
During my latest trip to LA, I had the opportunity to meet with Louis D’Esposito (Co-President of Marvel Studios & Executive Producer on “Agent Carter”) and Jeph Loeb (Executive Producer on “Agent Carter”). We were able to watch some never seen before footage and then really get a chance to LEARN about Agent Carter!
Who is Peggy Carter is a woman trying to show her role in a field filled with men. Loeb explains how the audience really finds a way to empathize with her & D’Esposito talks about this show and Peggy Carter’s journey!
About Agent Carter by Jeph Loeb!
- Loeb knew right from the beginning that when putting the team together they “needed Hayley”.
- Hayley Atwell is from 1946.
- The show starts to answer the question on what she did 6 months after Captain America’s death.
- “A hero comes from within,” Loeb explains. “If you put someone in the right place a hero will come out…” This really hit home for me.
- Hayley Atwell is likeable, fun, and you can really empathize with her. It is a journey that you WANT to go on with her!
- Television is about intimacy and character. Loeb goes on and explains how people are now watching shows on the go with their telephones and their laptops and it really does make it more intimate in more than one sense.
- Learning about the talent of the character that drives passion.
- Hayley Atwell empowers women.
- 22 Episodes and the split the season in two parts.
- Loeb explains that he is no longer in a “repeat hell” by having S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter.
A little more about Agent Carter by Louis D’Esposito
- This show is about Agent Carter and not just another Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
- The show is about the journey.
- Watch for the terrific time-lapse scenes with Chris/Captain America.
Watch the 2 HOUR Season Premiere on ABC at 7pm CST TONIGHT!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. I did cover the film as press on an all expense paid trip to LA by ABC/Disney. All opinions are my own.
