I Win! I Win! Oh…No, I didn’t.

I don’t rant very often. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I have EVER written a rant on my website! I am going to blame the pregnant hormones for giving me enough of I-Have-Had-Enough to write this rant.

My blog has been “nominated” again to be on of the Top 25 Couponing Moms. By “nominated” usually this means a website sends you an e-mail as if it is something to be proud of, BUT you have to ask your readers to constantly vote for you each day to drive another website traffic.

Last year, I fell under the fictitious charm to ask all of you to vote for me each day so that I could win this award. You get nothing for the award even though the site made it look like you would be recognized and possibly drive traffic to your site. I am a small blog compared to their website. Hundreds and hundreds of you voted and the traffic never came back from the site.

This contest is an evil ploy to drive small blogs to promote their page so that their traffic spikes and they never had to pay a penny for advertising. As a matter of fact, they trick you into giving you a badge to add to your website with a link to ‘THIER’ page. So you “WIN” the opportunity to put free advertising on your page to drive them traffic.

I have had several companies try this technique. I get really excited and humbled…then ashamed that I was tricked into their evil marketing tactics.

I don’t have this site for the money or even for the traffic or even to win awards. I started this site because I enjoy saving money and getting freebies and sharing with all of you! So thank you to those who have supported me and my blog & I am sorry if last year I asked to vote for something that turned out to be a trick!
