Our new dog named Rainbow…
Here is a Rainbow update! Back in January, I opened up to all of you about the hardships that my family has faced and the struggle that we have dealt with after my husband lost his job from our family business after we were embezzled a lot of money. The year ended with the loss of one of our little dogs – Penny. We found out that she had lost a lot of weight, had cancer, and then she passed away on Christmas Eve only a few days after finding out the bad news. We were devastated. All of our dogs have loved us unconditionally so it is our turn to learn to love them back with nudgethemback.com.
So I truly believe that in early January we were sent our own rainbow of hope. With finances being limited with my teacher salary being our main income (besides the money I make here and there from sponsors on this site), a picture of a couple of miniature pinscher puppies scrolled down my facebook feed from a friend who was looking for new owners for only one of the pups. I took my oldest daughter and my oldest miniature pinscher to our friend’s house to check out the puppy. I wouldn’t leave her! She already had her first set of shots and was only selling her for a rehoming fee which was the same amount that I had sitting in a Christmas card that I received as a gift during the holidays. Since that day our little puppy has shown us unconditional love that I couldn’t ever imagine! She helped fill our hearts with love during our tough time. It was only appropriate that we named her “Rainbow”!
All of my doggies have only shown me great love and to them we are all they have for their short little lives. It is only fair that I show them the best as well!
4 Ways To Show Your Dog You Love Them
Physical Needs: Exercise, Grooming, Love and Time. I like to feed my puppies Nudges treats. The food we choose to feed our dogs and their Nudges treats are made with real meat as their number one ingredient. It is also a great source of protein! We are loving the new Nudges Grillers and Sizzlers. The Grillers have Chicken and Steak and the Sizzlers have Chicken Bacon and Beef & Cheese (you can find these at NudgesDogTreats.com)! These have been our go to treat this week since we just got Rainbow spade at the vet. We want to make sure she is happy and still work on her training.
Emotional Needs: Our pups need to be socialized to each other, humans, and our small children. We do this by not only training them, but also training our kids on how to act around them.
Mental Needs: Did you know that dogs get bored too? Find fun little games to play with them. One dog loves to play chase, the other one likes play attack so we have had to teach her to not bite hard on human flesh. Yep, that is a real thing.
Social Needs: So my dogs MIGHT think they are human. We do our best to introduce them to other pups, people, and kids. That way they also learn how to socialize. We like to even have our dogs eat dinner the same time that we eat dinner. When grilling out just the other day, we let them enjoy Nudges Sizzlers and Nudges Grillers. Follow Nudges Dog Treats Facebook page for fun updates and pictures!

I have two mini schnauzers that I love so very much. I agree with you – it is so important to show your dogs that you love them and I am sure to spend one on one time with each of mine every single day. I haven’t tried this brand yet but I clipped a coupon recently and plan too – thanks for sharing your tips!

Our dogs are our babies. Especially as we get older and our kids do too. It’s so fun to take care of them by giving them special treats as well.

This is so true. I am the proud mom of a new puppy named Zoey and she is full of energy and life. We have a 16 year old mini schnauzer that her time is limited but wanted her to know we would be ok when she left this earth. I like giving them both treats and did a really cool half human half dog party you will have to check out. Thanks for sharing and Welcome to your new home Rainbow!

OMG! Your dog is so cute! I’m so bummed I can’t have a dog. My building that I live in doesn’t allow dogs. 🙁 Growing up I had doggies as pets and cannot wait to live in a place that allows dogs again!!

Congrats on your new puppy rainbow! We have three dogs and I show them that I love them by feeding them treats and just loving up on them. All three of my dogs are really affectionate and love snuggles and being pet!

We have cats in our home but not the dogs. Pets is always a part in a family and treated like a kid as well. Giving them a special treats and have a babysitter once we’re on vacation.

These look like something both of my dogs would love. I am always searching for a good snack for them and I think this will be next on my list to check out. Thanks for sharing and my pups thank you too!

Our dogs have been our children! They slept in the house, most of the time right under our kids beds. We love to give them treats and snuggles and no matter how long we are gone, they are always so excited to see us when we get back and provide true unconditional love!!

We have a fox terrier mix that we adopted from North shore about 5 years ago. At home he used to be very active but he doesn’t seem to want to play as much anymore. Except of course when we take him to the doggy park. We try to spend quality time with him but it seems everyone is just so busy these days. He ends up home alone a lot and I wonder if we should find him a new home.

Awww man. I think you need to do what is best for you and your dog. Can you make time for him? What about taking him with you?
