If you are looking for a good 4th of July Dessert this Red, White, and Blue Cake is very yummy and much better for you than that chocolate cupcake staring at you in the face at the grocery store. This summer has already been so hot that a cool cake with fruit topping is quite refreshing. This is one of my favorite 4th of July Recipes to take to the party! Right now you can find fruit on sale at the grocery store and most of it is so fresh! You can also find these ingredients at your local farmers market.
Ingredients:
Angel Food Loaf
Strawberries (clean and cut)
Blueberries (cleaned)
Cool Whip
Directions:
Slice the Angel Food Loaf in thirds going horizontally.
Add Cool whip with a spatula on each later.
Place the blueberries on one layer and the strawberries on the other.
Optional…Cover the entire cake with cool whip to serve.
I found that leaving in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes before you slice it makes it easier to cut! It is definitely one of those cakes that sometimes is served better in a bowl!
So what is your favorite 4th of July Recipe? I am going to be sharing more throughout the week!
